Does anyone else get the winter blues? I get them, bad, and I’m betting I’m not alone. If you’re like me, then you MUST make this pineapple sugar scrub—it’s so incredibly easy, smells AMAZING, and it’s like this bright dose of summer sunshine every time you use it! I’ve been using this scrub all over my body before I shower or take a bath, and I seriously don’t know how I’ve been living without it up until now.
Yes, that’s really it! Sugar is an fantastic natural exfoliant, and coconut oil is…well we all know how amazing coconut oil is for your hair/body/face etc.
There is almost nothing I love more than having flowers in my house. Over the years I’ve bought and/or made countless vases and flower pots, but somehow I’m always finding new ideas I want to test out.
Over the holidays I decided I needed some more Christmas-y flower pot decor, so I threw this DIY together. I wanted something cute, but not too time consuming or extravagant to where I would regret only being able to use them a couple months out of the year. Of course you can do this with any color fabric and use them year-round, so it’s a great one to have in your DIY arsenal.
Winter is in full swing and my grey obsession may be getting a little out of hand…but really, grey is one neutral I can never have enough of. Here are just a few of my favorite grey items for the season:
Every year I like to get a little creative with my gift wrapping and gift tags. This year, I decided to spice things up and try a wood gift tag DIY. It’s so simple and cute, anyone can do it!
I’ve gotten into redecorating lately, and my most recent project is my bathroom. Before it was pretty plain and I didn’t really have any decor, so I decided I wanted to spice it up a little. Maybe it’s overdone but I love a good beach-themed room, and I do live in Carmel-by-the-Sea, so it sort of makes sense.
I was searching Pinterest for some cute DIY ideas and came across seashell candles, which I thought would be the perfect accent piece for the bathroom! It was surprisingly easy actually, and turned out really cute, so I thought I’d share it with you!
All you need to make the candles themselves are some shells and tea lights, both of which you can easily find at your local craft store.
A couple years ago I started a little fresh herb garden in my backyard, and mint is one of the things I produce the most of. My fridge is always stocked with mint, and I’ve found countless ways to use it when I cook. One of my favorite things about mint in particular is that it’s so versatile and easy to use for both savory and sweet dishes. A few weeks ago my sister recommended I try making candied mint, so to Pinterest I went! I found quite a few recipes, all varying slightly in the drying method/time for the leaves, so I just picked the first one I saw and went for it.

As you probably know by now, I have a huuuge sweet tooth, and hot chocolate has been my favorite hot drink since I had my first sip around age 5. I will fully admit I look forward to winter mainly because it’s the one time of year when it’s socially appropriate for adults to drink hot chocolate on a regular basis. There’s nothing quite like curling up on the couch under a fluffy blanket with a great book and a big, steamy hot mug of cocoa.
Now there are some people who are totally satisfied with a packet of Swiss Miss and some hot milk or water. I am not one of them. There are also people who have their one hot chocolate recipe they swear by and refuse to deviate from. I am not one of those people either. In fact, every winter I spend hours scrolling through Pinterest finding new hot chocolate recipes to try. While I still love traditional cocoa, there are a few non-traditional renditions I’ve tried that are truly out of this world, so I thought I’d share them with you!
